Kodi Addon Repo Collections

Repositories (Repos) and Addons:

Addons are specific apps that can be used within Kodi. A Repository is a collection of Addons, that allows you to find, and install individual addons contained within the Repository.

Repositories are usually containers that are developed to help package groups of Addons together to make finding and installing individual addons easier for the user. An example is TVAddons.ag repository (recently shutdown), which hosted and contained 1000's of individual addons available for easy installation and is/was one of the most popular and largest repositories for Kodi addons.

Addons can sometimes be found in multiple repositories. Since repositories are a group of packaged addons, many addons are contained in multiple repositories. This means if you want a particular addon installed, there may be numerous repositories that contain that addon, giving users options of where to get the addon. The addon will be the same regardless of which repository it was installed from.

This also gives addons some resilience from getting shutdown. Such is the case when TVAddons.ag was shutdown, the popular Exodus addon was exclusive to this repo. Shortly thereafter, another repository grouped the Exodus in to it's repo collection so that users could still find and install this addon since it was no longer available on TVAddons.ag.

General Install instructions for most repos:

Most repos are added in a similar method. This includes the following steps:

Note: Kodi 17.0 and later, need to have option to allow 3rd party addons enabled
